Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair Pt. 1 - S1E48

Justin & Matt Harper Season 1 Episode 48

Today on Beyond the Slipstream, we’re going back to 2006, when Quentin Tarantino finally released Kill Bill… in it’s entirety, as one unified film, that is. Called “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair” the film was released at the Cannes film festival and was the realization of Tarantino’s complete vision for the film that many consider his masterpiece. It combined both of the previously released parts of the film along with some additional scenes and footage, most notably an extension of the animated sequence detailing O-Ren Ishii’s origin story, the colorization of the House of Blue Leaves fight scene, and the omission of the recap section at the beginning of Part 2 (unnecessary since it’s all one film.) We decided to cover the film on the show this week to coincide with a recent theatrical re-release, which also added a new animated sequence, “The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge” at the end of film after the closing credits sequence. Today we’ll cover the first half of the film, and pick it up with the second half on next week’s show.
